LECTURES
Bet Shalom is an active community in the study and divulgation, and correspondingly, we organize lectures on a wide range of topics throughout the year: Jewish literature, shoah literature, abortion and Judaism, interreligious dialogue, contemporary Jewish ethics, calendar, music, spirituality, among others.
Although the lectures are destined to the Catalan Jewish community, they are also usually open to the general public.

VIDEOCONFERENCES AND WEBINARS
From the beginning, Bet Shalom believes that the use of new technologies allows knowledge to overcome physical barriers and to promote bidirectional communication.
They are in real time and have the same quality than in-person events. This allows us to connect not only with national and international lecturers but also to be a connecting tool with Spanish kehilot.
In videoconference there are different physical spaces because lecturer and interlocutor are in distant places. Face-to-face interaction is in real time thanks to the software we use.
In the webinar the people involved are not necessarily showed in video. On a small scale, the participants interact between them, and if the participants are too numerous, the interaction is directed through a chat. In both cases, texts are there shared on-line.
Bet Shalom also spread news about the webinars promoted by other Jewish institutions, like Union for Reform Judaism or the Shalom Hartman Institute.
